What quiz mode adds
Forms365 Workspace has a quiz mode for SharePoint forms. You mark the correct answer on each question that should be graded, set a pass mark, and the form works out a score when someone submits. It suits an induction check, a policy sign-off with a few comprehension questions, or product training, where the point is that a person genuinely engaged with the material.
What is graded, and what is stored
| Item | How it works |
|---|---|
| Correct answer per question | You set it while building the form |
| Score and pass or fail | Worked out on submit against your pass mark |
| The person's answers | Saved to your SharePoint list as a submission |
Be honest about what it is not
A form quiz is a knowledge check, not a proctored exam. It does not verify who is sitting at the keyboard and it is not designed to defeat a determined cheat. On a public web quiz the grading runs in the browser, which means it should not be treated as tamper-proof. Use it where a real attempt is the goal, and reach for a dedicated assessment platform when a result carries formal weight, like certification or compliance you must defend.
Setting one up
- 1
Write the questions
Build the form as usual. Choice and yes/no questions are the easiest to grade cleanly.
- 2
Mark the correct answers
Turn on quiz mode and set the right answer on each question that should count.
- 3
Set the pass mark
Decide the score needed to pass, and what the person sees when they finish.
- 4
Test and publish
Run through it once to confirm the scoring is right, then publish it to your team.

Common questions
Is a form quiz secure enough for a formal exam?
Treat it as a knowledge check or training quiz, not a proctored exam. It is not built to stop a determined person, and a public web quiz is graded in the browser, so it is not tamper-proof. Use it where a genuine attempt is the point, not high-stakes certification.
Where do the answers go?
The person's answers save to your SharePoint list like any other submission, so results sit alongside your other records for reporting. You set the correct answers on the form while building it.
